What is After Art all about? What does it mean and why am I sharing this proposal with you?
I want to bring local and eventually international artists to The Reserve here in Belize. I love everything about this type of event. The artists and their amazing talents, the local music and always the cultural foods and drink.
I flew to Belize City to meet with the President of the Tourism Board and explained this venue and my Annual Boat Show Venue with him. He was excited and positive about both events and wants to partner with us! Fantastic! Support from the Country already is outstanding!
I have lived in the Reserve - Sanctuary Belize - for five years and been through the ups and downs. I believe there is a lot of misconception about The Reserve and one way to show the positive life we live here is to open our doors and just share it in a big Belizean way! Time to bring people together and no better way than the universal language of art, food and music. I think it is time for our Belizean neighbors and local Expats to share this incredible community and welcome every international artist or vendor or traveler an open door to participate as well.
I have shared this idea and vision with quite a few friends and artists and business owners, they all are excited about seeing it happen.
My name is Kathy Ellis. This idea has been on my mind for four years. After watching our development go through what it has over the last few years, I decided to stop waiting and just give it a shot. You never know what you can accomplish if you don’t try. This is a positive and proactive way to share this beautiful development.
WHY DID I NAME THIS EVENT AFTERART?
'After Art' suited the idea of being able to involve all local artists time to be involved in every art event here in Belize, without competing for calendar time.
After Art Annual April Event will be held here in The Reserve - All Pines Road - Sittee River.
More to come on this Scope of Project as I work with the assistance I am gaining.
